Our March meeting happened on the 9th and we had a wonderful embroidery demonstration. A member purchased a Creative Medley Design and is making 40 of them. Sew adorable! For those of you interested in joining our E-Stitchers group the embroidery machine that made this design is an asset available to be checked out by E-Stitchers members. If you are interested in becoming a member and joining our charitable sewing group, please email us at E-Stitchers@outlook.com, additionally it would be required you purchase the design.
These stuffies are embroidery in the hoop, and turn inside out. Outside is the egg, turn inside out, and it can become a butterfly or a rabbit. Perfect gifts for Easter, and adorable.
We also had a nice show and tell…..
This afghan was accomplished all by donation yarn and it turned out scraptacular! This will be donated to a worthy cause. This ended up being a 63 X 69.
A new show-n-tell that was not quite sew new. This in an embroidered jacket of grandchildren’s names with their bandit style bandanas….clever, cute idea.
A work in progress. A flannel Rag Quilt with out the ragging yet created at a quilting retreat, all with kitty cat theme. Thank you hand models 😉
More pic goodness with a lovely rendition of a sewing machine organizer. The vintage machine fabric is perfect for this project!
My camera somewhat malfunctioned for this picture but it is a tutu style skirt with many gathers of tulle fabric and a couple layers trimmed out in gross-grained ribbon. Reminded us of Minnie Mouse. This will make some little girl very happy!
A temperature blanket was started the first day of this year. Each color represents a different temperature. Each row stands for a day of the year. This is too cool!
Someone went to retreat and created this lovely tumbler batik beauty. Can’t wait to see that one quilted and finished with all that color beauty.
We also passed out over one hundred tissue holders that were distributed amongst the elderly at the nursing home. They received their gifts for Valentine’s Day.
Now onto our April upcoming workshop. We will be making Cool Wraps for soldiers. These are pieces of fabric stitched to hang about the neck on a hot day. There is a crystal inside the wrap that allows you to pop it into the freezer or fridge and to keep you cool while doing a hot task (like mowing the lawn, or here in Texas just moving about outside anytime during the summer months). For members, this workshop will have a make and take. You will be making one for yourself as well as many others for charity. For non-members, the cool wraps sewn will be for donation only. View the link for the details of the April work shop here.
If you are interested in learning how to make a cool wrap and want to join in the fun, please email us at E-Stitchers@outlook.com , we would love to hear from you.
